Leggings

I am sure that every girl has a pair of leggings in her closet somewhere. Leggings play an important role in my “wardrobe collections”. I remember my very first pair of leggings was bright fuchsia from Marks & Spencer when I was around six years old. Did I pick it out myself? Of course not! My mom was in charge of my daily outfit back then. But I loved that pair of leggings; unfortunately I was allowed to wear it for only special occasions: weddings, New Year’s party etc. As years go by, I still love leggings but I would buy/wear only black ones.

I usually wear my leggings (has to be with my heel or booties) when I go grocery shopping because they are very comfortable and have minimal restriction. There are different types of leggings material: cotton, nylon, polyester. The material determines how thin/thick the leggings are and how tight they are on your skin. My new favourite is faux suede leggings. I love the softness and comfort while it still holds its shape after wear. If you have already had a pair of faux leather leggings and you love it, I highly recommend you should try a pair of suede ones and I promise you will not regret!

As much as I love my leggings, there are couple things I would watch out for. To me leggings are leggings; they are not pants so I will never wear them as pants. The close-to-skin fit shows almost everything so you have to know what tops to pair with and take away some attention on your legs (You may want to stay away with the combo of leggings and bodycon tops to avoid the “sausage” look). And leggings definitely are great friends with long tunics and chunky sweaters. If you want to get the perfect proportion, don’t forget to pair with your heels (sexy and chic)!! Next time you wear your leggings, play around with it and have some fun!

Blanket Scarves

Fall is finally here and I am so excited to wear (and to shop for) all the nice fall clothing. Jackets and coats are great for the season but you need to own a blanket scarf if you have never had one before. You can do a lot with a blanket scarf since it is so versatile. You can wear them as scarves or capes; you can do any styles as you wish. They are light but yet they can keep you warm. I get lots of compliments when I have mine on. Blanket scarves are perfect for shopping days especially when I don’t have my fiancés with me so I have no one to help me carry my jacket or coat. Believe me it’s never fun shopping with only one hand. With blanket scarves, I can either leave them on as a cape or put them in my purse.

There are so many blanket scarves out there in different prints and shades. It is never easy to pick one. Choosing the colour or print is personal preference, but keep in mind you need to think about what you are going to pair the blanket scarf with. If you are going for one with prints, you want to pair with a solid colour top to get a clean look. Also think about what colour works better on your skin tone because you want the scarf to enhance your look and outfit. Wearing the right blanket scarf will give you a “pop” and not turn you into an eyesore.

Trust me you never have enough blanket scarves (My fiancés may not agree with me on this). If you don’t have one in your closet, you need to go and get one now! I promise that you will fall in love with your new scarf.
