Parkas

As the weather is getting colder, I have been bundling up to try to stay warm every morning. And it’s less than a month till Christmas, I need to have a master plan to keep warm while wearing all the fancy outfits to different parties. Here parkas come in handy! Before I purchased my first parka, I never thought that parka is my thing because most of them look pretty bulky. I had lots of coats but never a parka. But with all the rain in Vancouver, I finally gave in and started my journey of finding my perfect parka, which would keep me dry but still fashionable.

There are lots of choices when it comes to parkas; and it all depends on your preference on styles, fits, colours, as well as what weather/climate you wear the parkas in. I like to pay attention to the types of insulation, which can determine the weight and warmth the jackets will be. I personally like goose down because it is very light and warm. I also like to watch the shape of the parkas. I am not a big fan of anything too big/bulky so I like my parkas a little fitted. To avoid the overly heavy/boyish look, you want your parkas to be sexily oversized, which means you should go for one with a drawstring or a belt to give you a waist or one is made in a fitted shape. Fabrics are very important too because preferably you want your parkas to be waterproof, if not at least water-resistant, so you can wear them in the rain.

Before you purchase a parka, don’t be afraid to do some research online and in different stores. Trust me you have lots of options so you want to take your time and make sure you get one that really suits your needs. Besides insulation, shape, and fabric, there are still many things you need to look into: hood, zippers, seams, pockets, layers etc. Once you find your perfect one, you can wear yours everyday and with everything. And you don’t have to worry about being cold in your sexy dresses, skirts, tops going to parties because your parkas will get you through any weather!
